A Journey
from Experience to Empathy

Hi, I’m Josephine—though most people call me Jojo. I’m not just a psychotherapist, but as a wounded healer, my journey into this work wasn’t just about academic training; it is deeply personal. Life has taken me through my own challenges, giving me a unique understanding of what it means to struggle, to question, and to rebuild. Through my own experiences, I’ve come to understand something profound:

healing isn't about quick fixes or surface-level advice.

It’s about deeply understanding yourself, rewriting the narratives that no longer serve you, and stepping into a version of yourself that feels whole, confident, and true.

My Story

Josephine fondly called JoJo, is a compassionate, caring, patient person who has always had an interest in people.  That’s why I started my career early on as a trainer. I transitioned into counselling because I really enjoy talking with people about relationships, life issues, a knack for listening, helping identify blocks that’s keeping them from their best self and removing those challenges.

I started Talktojojo1st because I wanted to do something different but be able to harness the experiences gained in my 27+ years across various disciplines. My practice reflects my unique people skills and insights with an emphasis on evidence-based treatments.

Over the years, I have been privileged to work with clients from diverse cultures, ethnicity, gender orientations, between ages 11 to 70 and the most rewarding aspect to my work is when clients come to the realization that the resources required to overcome their issues is within them, becoming who they want to be, and are empowered to embrace themselves. What makes my approach different you may ask? I don’t believe that one size fits all, nor practice generic therapy plans or textbook solutions. I draw on a wide range of therapeutic approaches to tailor sessions uniquely to each client.

The field of Psychotherapy is constantly evolving, I focus on keeping up with the latest research through reading and trainings. I am proud to say I am a lifelong learner and see the benefits in my therapy sessions. I currently train and guest lecture at Pan African University on Emotional Intelligence, Communication and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

"I believe in a holistic approach encompassing the psychological, social, emotional and spiritual."

Supporting You

Therapy with me isn’t about fitting into a model or following a script.

It’s about YOU—YOUR STORY, your needs, your growth. I don’t believe in a

one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, I blend psychodynamic insight, cognitive techniques, and narrative therapy to create a tailored experience that supports you.

Transformation happens when you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. My role is to walk alongside you offering

  • DEEP NON-JUDGMENTAL LISTENING ..You won't be rushed or dismissed

  • GUIDANCE THAT ADAPTS TO YOU ...  Every session is tailored to what you     need in that moment .

  • TOOLS FOR EMPOWERMENT...  Not just insights, but practical ways to move forward .

  • A PARTNERSHIP IN GROWTH...You're not alone in this.
